THE DETAILS

From designing and painting the helmet—with every element, shape, and color inspired by a different iconic Lamborghini model—to then planning, painting, and building the light-up display case and trimmed plinth, I wanted each and every aspect of the piece to carry the uniqueness and feel of the legendary Italian brand.

It is hard to describe every single detail as there are countless, all with special meanings behind them. From the visor bolts that are inspired by Tecnica wheels, to the front vent mesh composed of tiny little hexagons just like the grilles of a Lamborghini, and the HANS posts inspired by Veneno wheels, then to the helmet itself—the main side shape is inspired by the side vents of the ever-beautiful Miura. Then there are elements of the iconic telephone dial wheels, the Aventador tail lights, and front bumper elements; the top is inspired by the roof vents on the Diablo. The list could go on, and I love to leave some small details hidden where they aren't immediately noticeable but the more you look, the more depth you see.

THE REVEAL

After hundreds of hours spent on this project in total, it was so amazing to unveil it to Lamborghini Auckland in person—showing surprise elements that they didn't know I had planned—from the custom-trimmed Alcantara plinth that the helmet sits on, to the light-up box that changes color and can run within a smart home system.

Following the reveal to Lamborghini Auckland, I was lucky enough to be invited to an extra special 60th-anniversary dinner to reveal the helmet & display to clients and VIPs of the brand.
